Description | Breakbeat hardcore (aka old skool rave) is a form of acid house/techno combined with breakbeats and was a part of the UK rave scene in the early 1990s. The style are characterized by upbeat piano rolls (mostly used Korg M1) alongside with the rave stabs and synths samples from classic house/techno tracks of the late 1980s and early 1990s. Tempo range is around 110 to 145 BPM (similar to the steady beat of house music). Today is also commonly confused with breakcore usually refers to style of drum and bass, while breakbeat hardcore to describe house music that played in early 1990s rather than modern drum and bass. | |
