The original Nyanyanyanyanyanyanya! was produced by daniwellP using Hatsune Miku. Six months later, a Momone Momo cover was uploaded to NND by UTAU producer Momomomo. In 2011, YouTube user saraj00n created a video entitled "Nyan Cat", combining the UTAU cover with a looping gif animation by prguitarman; this video went viral (with over 60 million views as of Feb. 2012) and has since inspired many derivatives.

In Feb. 2012, daniwellP responded to the internet meme by releasing this album, which contains both the original song (Track 12) and the Momo cover version (Track 1). The album illustration features Miku on a flying Nyan Cat.
